After School Tutoring & Exam Preparation
After school should feel like an exhale, not a continuation of everything that just wore them out. When kids come in after a full day, I’m not interested in piling on more of the same. I want to know what’s going on with them, where they’re stuck, and what they need today. Some days that’s homework help. Some days, it’s going back to a concept that never quite landed the first time. We figure it out together.
I’ve been teaching long enough to know that every child has a completely different way of taking in information. Some of my kids need to talk through a problem out loud, bounce ideas around, and feed off a little energy in the room. Others need quiet, space, and zero distractions to do their best thinking. We have both. A collaborative area for the kids who come alive in a group, and a quieter space for the ones who just need to focus and breathe.
When exams are on the horizon, I take that seriously. Not in a stressful, cram-everything-in kind of way, but in a let’s-actually-understand-this kind of way. I want your child walking into that test feeling prepared, not panicked. We’ll work through the material at a pace that builds real confidence, because confidence is honestly half the battle on exam day. Whether it’s a unit test next week or the SAT next semester, we’ll put together a plan that makes sense for your child specifically and get them ready.
